Philip Gray

Philip was born in Cork, Ireland, in 1959 but has travelled the world.
His passion for art is equalled only by his passion for exploration and discovery.

17 years as a naval diver gave Phil a unique view of the natural world and a love of travel, particularly in the ‘danger zone’.

“I want to visit places where people seldom venture, but also where an artist has never painted. New life challenges provide the impetus for my work and are an essential element of my painting process.”

Wherever he goes on the planet, it is the South West coast of Ireland that he always returns to, painting peaceful depictions of the shores and harbours of home.

His powerful original oils, pastels and collectable editions have won him a wide range of celebrity collectors.

Philanthropy is central in Philip’s life. BBC’s Children in Need and the Hope Foundation benefitting the so called street children of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), are just two of the many charities that have benefited from his support.

His extraordinary live painting demonstrations have made him one of the most popular guests ever on the Cunard three Queens luxury liners.
